St. Joseph was a poor Carpenter of Nazareth. God knew He could trust Joseph, so He chose him for a most important task. He became the husband of Mary and Foster Father of Our Lord. He led Mary and Jesus safely into Egypt when Herod was trying to kill the Child. Joseph worked very hard to make life safe and happy for Jesus and Mary. So Jesus has made him the Protector of the Whole Church.
